A Bunch O' Happenings

Did I really say I was a zoo keeper? Well scratch that because apparently I'm not a very good one. Dulcinea breathed her last bit of air on Friday afternoon. She caught a virus of some sort and when we took her to the Vet, she was immediately put on an IV. The vet said that it was higly possible for her to die but he would do what he could. Well he did his thing and on Thursday when we went to visit her she was about 60% better. We were so excited and the vet said we could pick her up the next day. Well the next day she had a relapse and a hard one at that and wasn't able to make it. Boo hoo. We are sad that she is gone and that Don Quijote no longer has a cuddle bunny and playmate, but I'm relieved that she is out of her pain. Poor little thing looked so miserable when she was sick. Jason buried her up on the project property. Don Quijote and I did not attend the buriel. Our neighbor said that Don Quijote is still in mourning because he is "wearing" black. I guess he'll always be in mourning then. Soooo the zoo is no more and in its stead is Don Quijote who has more than enough bugs, chickens and stray dogs to keep him busy. I think he is actually enjoying his original level of attention, the rascal.

A lot is happenning right now. The project is going full force, PRAISE GOD, and team # 3 is here as I write. The team consists of 15 men so I'm more than outnumbered. We are having a lot of fun with them though and from what I witnessed today, they are getting a lot of tough work done. I was planning on just showing up to help with lunches this week, you know, I wouldn't want to get in the way or anything, but Jason wants me to help tomorrow putting tile mosaics in the bathroon showers. That'll be fun! I haven't decided what the mosaics will be yet but it'll be fun to imagine away.

Ok and so for my favorite topic lately...my neice was born on Saturday!!! Her name is Roma Yleana Thompson and she is precious, just PRECIOUS! I wish so badly that I could cuddle her, kiss her, and love on her. This is SO hard! I love my three nieces to pieces (hey that rhymes) but I trust the Lord that he knows what he is doing with having us all where he does. It's just so hard to be a picture auntie. Katelyn is the only one who recognizes me. Aww. Anyways, if you would like to see picyures f Roma you can go to somoslosthompson.blogspot.com and see her precious self there.

I'm using a computer at the cafe right now so I don't have any pictures to post but when I bring our laptop I'll post some. Please pray with us for the team this week, that they will have the strength, attitude, and intelligence to work well, that they will enjoy their time playing, but mostly that their hearts will be touched and changed by our mighty God and their love for him grow even deeper. May the blessings of God be evident to you today...

Sarita Linda, so sahlee about your doggie. So what does revancha mean? I find Steve's sense of humor so entertaining that I got a big laugh, anyway!

I hope you got my phone call. When Marisha was taken to the hospital, I called you at the number you had given me, so you could know what the rest of us knew and to pray. I had to call twice, because the time ran out on the recording. Then when Roma was born, I called and left another message. The next day I got a voice message back from a lady in New Brunswick, Canada, who had received the message about a Sarah and a baby in the hospital; she was worried you wouldn't get the message. She was so interested in the situation, she asked me to call again, twice, to get the scoop. I can only imagine what kind of phone bill I'll get! :>] I'm sorry I wasn't able to connect with you as we'd planned!

We're praying for the team!

Amy Mathis
