Luka Leon

That is his latest nickname (meaning Luka Lion). "They" were calling him Luka Pollo (meaning Luka Chicken) after a friend of ours here whom we call Didi Pollo because he was the guy who roasted the chickens at one of our favorite eating joints. I didn't much like "Luka Pollo" so one day, seeing as how Luka was wearing an outfit that sported a lion on his bib, onesie and tush, I thought it was fitting to change his name to "Luka Leon." And it stuck. My grandpa's middle name is Leon so if you bump into him, tell him Luka's new nickname but skip the outfit part and maybe he'll think we named him that after him. It might do his old sweet heart some good.
Please pray for me. And Jason of course. We think it's due to teething, but we're not sure. Luka has been screaming a lot off and on lately. Mostly during some of his feeding times. What confuses me is that sometimes he eats perfectly normally, not a cry or whimper, but at other times, when he cries for food and I oblige accordingly, he offers back ear-splitting screams. It's quite frazzling to say the least. It hurts my heart to see him in...pain. But is it pain? I'm not sure so please pray for us that we would be patient with him and would have wisdom if he needs to be checked by a doctor... Keep in mind that taking him to a pediatrician is not a just-around-the-corner sort of deal. We have to set aside pretty much an entire day to drive to another city if he needs an appointment. It might just be our new-parent-inexperience thing and is probably nothing more than the poor kid having gum aches. Pobrecito...He is SUCH a sweet and good baby that it throws me off to hear him like this.
