Nicknames already?

Luka is two weeks old today and he has already been assigned a plethora of nicknames. They are the following:

• Lucky: Born on St. Patrick’s Day
• Laggin Luka: He likes to lag around with his arms hanging at his sides
• Rat Faced Cheetah: ??? I dunno. Ask Jason about this one.
• Crawfish Baby: He is easily put to sleep when we caress his forehead, nose or cheeks. There is this theory, well, it’s not a theory really because it really works, that if you take a crawfish, lay it on its back and rub it’s belly, that it will relax and fall asleep. Therefore, he is our little crawfish. This nickname makes my stomach a little queasy.
• Boxer: so named for his hands being covered with socks due to his knack of pinching any part of his body that he can reach, particularly his face. The socks look like boxing gloves on him and he proceeds to punch himself with his “gloves.”
• Chichi: It just fits. He’s our little Chichi.

I’m sure there are more we have called him but these are the ones that have stuck the most.

On the same day Luka turns two weeks, Jason turns 25. Years that is. Yes, today was my handsome man’s birthday, therefore I made him his new favorite: Flan de Coco (Coconut custard?). Boy was that a success. Mmmm mm m. Smaking mah lips good!

Here are some pictures of a very relaxing excursion we took to a waterfall. Luka really is lucky, ahem, blessed to live in a place like this. What 11 day old gets to go to a waterfall? Jason’s tactic to waking him up for a feeding was to dip his foot into the frigid water….ummmm, not Luka’s favorite moment during his short life so far. A few kisses and sweet words from his Papi had him right as rain in no time.

Well, he definitely woke up!
